Me & Hue is an interactive experience that allows guests to walk away with a custom piece of art that captures their individual spark. Forget everything you know about party favors; these illustrated portraits are fun, easy to take home, and completely one-of-a-kind!
As a former character designer for Disney+ and Netflix, I've spent years mastering how to put personality onto the page. As a result, I proudly take that same approach with every live portrait I create. Your goofy cousin and sweet grandma will leave with a custom piece that is both hand-drawn and uniquely them.
This work goes beyond just illustration. Me & Hue harnesses my passion for portraiture to show someone their inner and outer beauty through art. I love creating an experience that leaves your guests feeling seen, excited, and most of all, looking back fondly on your big day for years to come.
Step One.
All About You.
Pick your package! Simply fill out an online inquiry and I’ll be in touch within 2-3 business days to set up a consultation.
After you tell me all about your wow-worthy wedding or event, I’ll provide further information about the live guest portrait experience and what to expect. Together, we will determine exactly what you’re looking for.
Step Two.
Lock It In.
With the details decided, I’ll send you the final contract. Once signed, you will receive an invoice for a 50% non-refundable deposit up front.
30 days before the event, you will receive an invoice for the remaining 50% payment.
Step Three.
The Big Day.
On the big day, I’ll come early and set up my station. Guests are invited to sit for a quick reference photo, then enjoy the celebration while their portrait is completed. They can return at their leisure to pick up their one-of-a-kind portrait.
To maximize how many guests can get a portrait done, I only allow one per person. Couples are welcome, but no more than 2 people per illustration (unless you have a baby – I'll never say no to a cute baby!)

Dazzle your guests with a bespoke live illustration experience that sets your wedding apart and creates timeless keepsakes to keep them remembering your big day for years!
I will capture your guests in colourful, hand-drawn portraits created on-site throughout your reception. Each illustration is thoughtfully crafted in real time with watercolours and pencil. I focus on capturing the spirit and energy of your guests, with portrait busts that center on the face. In 10 years, I want your guests to look at their portrait and think ‘wow, that's me!’ I encourage guests to come and watch the artistic process.
I complete about 6 portraits per hour, so I’ll create as many as possible within the booked time.

The Experience:
During your event or reception, guests are invited to come and sit for a quick reference photo. I create unique watercolour portraits of guests, live on-site. They can stay, watch, or meander and enjoy the party while I create their bespoke portrait. I encourage guests to come and watch at their leisure while I perform the creative magic that is live illustration! At the end of the night, they can walk away with their original piece of art. This moment in time is captured forever through paint.

Created based off of your favorite photo from the celebration, with the thought, care, time and technique it deserves. This isn't a 10 minute guest portrait; this is detailed, intricate, and carefully created to capture your radiant smiles on the big day.
I love these portraits because I can spend the time to make them perfect. Crafted and delivered within a month of receiving your photo reference with watercolours, pastels, pencils and ink. This is an 11x17 portrait illustration on high quality watercolour paper that embodies your enduring love for one another.

The Experience:
You submit your cutest, smiliest, lovey-doveiest portrait photo from your wedding, ideally from the shoulders up. This illustration will capture the delight on each of your faces. I create a watercolour mixed media illustration based on your photo, package it up safely and deliver it to your address, ready to be framed and hung!
Place Cards
Bring a little surprise to your guests as they find their seats at the reception! Instead of just names, guests can find one of a kind, hand drawn portrait illustrations on their plate.

The Experience:
You provide me with portrait photos and names of all the guests attending your wedding. These can be selfies, yearbook photos, etc, as long as they accurately depict how your guest looks. I create colourful watercolour portrait Place Cards with their names handwritten or stamped below, according to your preference. I will show you a sample before moving on with the entire guestlist, so you know what to expect. These Place Card Illustrations are done ahead of time and sent to you, the venue or your wedding planner.

Totally! In town, travel costs are included. Outside of Greater Victoria, I calculate the costs of gas/ferry tickets/accommodation and give you an estimate of travel fees before the event. Let's chat about it!

All you need to provide is a table and chair, and I handle the rest. I provide an elegant, understated table setup with signage advertising the live portrait service.
